The School Bell

I got this message from the parish school system today (school will be back in tomorrow). Ever since I moved here I've thought the schools were lousy. I never did understand how these kids can learn anything when they're never in school! A half day here. A half day there. Here a half, there a half, everywhere there is a half.

A week for Thanksgiving. A week for Easter. A week for Mardi Gras. A week for Mardi Gras? Really? No wonder the schools here are ranked 49th out of 50. The school bell isn't ringing enough 'cause the kids (and teachers) are out partying.
